Usage, logs and cost centers
Installation-wide usage and costs, logs for Teams and Projects, storage usage and chargeback with cost centers.
The Usage & spend group in Admin covers the whole installation. Platform Admins and Auditors see the same figures.
Usage & costs
Admin's Usage & costs has the same Overview and Explore views as a workspace's (see Usage and costs), across every workspace, plus By workspace: one row per workspace with its spend, requests and tokens, its cost center, and actions to adjust it.
- Personal workspaces count in every total, but only as totals. Their keys are grouped into one "Personal workspace keys" row, and members' rows show per-person totals only. No personal request or key is ever listed.
- Installation budgets are shown with their current window, settled and held amounts.
- Filter by workspace, model, key, member, status, cost center or service account. Periods are 1 to 93 UTC days.
- The By workspace row menu has shortcuts: assign a future cost center, assign a direct model, replace catalog availability, set custom limits, and reset catalog or policy inheritance.
Logs
Admin's Logs is the same view as a workspace's Logs, over every Team and Project, with a Workspace column and filter. Personal workspaces never appear as rows: their activity stays in Usage & costs totals. Batches lists Team and Project batches, with running, finished and failed totals for personal workspaces.
Remember that session ids sent by clients (X-Session-Id, or the user field) are visible here for Teams and Projects.
Storage usage
Storage in the file store is recorded hourly per workspace and purpose, and shown in GB-days (1 GiB kept for 24 hours). Admins see per-workspace totals; personal workspaces show totals only. Storage is Not charged: it has no price yet.
Cost centers
Cost centers label spending for chargeback, such as a department's code. Create cost center with a name and code, then Assign a team or project. You can also set it on a Team's or Project's General tab, or with Assign future cost center… in Usage & costs › By workspace.
- A request takes the workspace's cost center when it is admitted. Changes and renames apply to new requests only; history keeps the label it had.
- Usage with no cost center is Unallocated, and fully counted.
- Archive cost center… clears current assignments; past usage keeps the label.
- Cost centers give no access to anything.
Reports can filter and group by cost center, including unallocated.
Exports
Workspace admins can export a workspace's cost records as CSV, up to 1,000 rows per page, and Explore tables as CSV. There is no installation-wide export of individual requests: platform reports are aggregates.
Reading reports correctly
- Settled cost and amounts on hold are shown separately. Don't add holds as extra spend.
- Health counts (pending, unknown, unpriced, unbounded, aged holds) overlap: one request can be in several.
- Reports are live estimates from configured prices, not frozen statements or invoices.
